Mini Company!

A huge project that I have taken part in this year is Mini Company!
It all started back in September when we divided up into groups of seven or eight.Next we had to start thinking outside the box for some product ideas. After we had brainstormed came the hard bit;choosing one idea form a list of lots of really good ones.
My group decided on making a locker customiser kit;which would include a magnetic frame, mirror, phone holder and a place for sticky notes! But things didn't go to plan and we couldn't find suppliers so we decided on just making the magnetic frames.
The next step we took was deciding on a name;after a few meetings we had come up with a short list of possible names. After a vote we decided to name the company 'SnapShot Frames'.
Then we all had to put in €10 so we could buy the equipment we needed.
The most important thing to do in our company was to make the frames. This was very time consuming in the beginning but as the weeks went by we (the production team and I) became much quicker at making them. Our frames were decorated using cut out designs from occasion cards, sticker, paint and gems.
When we had the frames made we had to decided on a price. We decided to do a survey with the students in the school. Most people said that they would play €5-8;but we thought that was a bit expensive for students so we decided on €4 each.
Next we had to promote our product before selling,so we put up some posters around the school. Then came the hard part trying to get people to buy our frames. In the beginning people seemed really interested but after Christmas our sales dropped so we put on a sale (2 frames for €5 of 1 frame for €3)
Even with the sale we were still left with some stock so hopefully in the coming weeks we will sell them and be able to divide up the profit.
Before the competition in January we still had one big thing left to do:The Report!
The most stressful thing in the project was the report, but luckily we had a super CEO who organised the whole thing,we wouldn't of been ready for the competition if it wasn't for her!
Although mini company was definitely a stressful project I really enjoyed taking part in it.I learnt a lot about enterprise and working in a large group.
Here's a copy of our report!

This was our display for the competition!
Heres a photo of some of our frames!
